Financial Assistance

One of our missions is to make sure that everyone who wants to attend Summer Camp at CGS, has the opportunity. Does the dollar amount for Summer 2019 intimidate you? Fill out our Financial Assistance Application HERE. Priority deadline each year is June 1st.

Changing Weeks

Are the dates you registered for no longer free in your schedule? That’s ok!  Prior to June 1, 2019 we offer one FREE change to your camp dates.  To change your dates please fill out the change form so that our Business Services Director can make the necessary adjustments.  Access the change form HERE.

Ragger Program

The YMCA Rags and Leathers Program is centered on personal growth.  Through goal setting, commitment, and positive values, campers learn to assess their strengths as well as areas in their personal lives needing improvement, usually with a focus on behavior or spiritual growth. This is an optional program for campers wanting to dedicate themselves to continued self-improvement.

Cabin Placement

Campers are organized into cabin groups by age. We do our best to accommodate cabin requests, but requests must be made on the online application.  Please do not call or email in your request.  All cabin requests must be made 30 days prior to your camper’s session.  After that time, no changes are allowed.  Cabin requests must be reciprocal. For example, both campers have to request each other on their form for this to be honored.



Food is fuel out at camp! Therefore, camp menus are carefully selected to provide a balanced diet.  From chicken and waffles to meatloaf and mashed potatoes we do everything in our power to make sure that your camper leaves every meal with a full belly that will keep them powered for the next activity.  If your camper is not a fan of the menu for a certain meal, never fear! The Camp Grady Spruce dining hall is fully stocked with fresh fruit, a salad bar, and a sun butter and jelly sandwich station at all meals.  More of a cereal person for breakfast? We have you covered there too; there is a cereal bar provided every morning!

Special Dietary Needs

If your child has any food allergies or dietary needs, please note these on their medical forms. For vegetarian, gluten-free or other special dietary needs, please contact our  Food Service Director, Judy Anderson at about these needs, or call 214.319.9944 at least a week in advance.

Every camper is required to wear lifejackets at all water activities. Swimming is a camp activity, however, swim lessons are not. If you are interested in swim lessons, please contact your local YMCA for swim lesson information.
